Camp Lee Mar

What to expect from Lee MarACA logo TCS * Over 55 years of changing children's lives Founded in 1953 Lee Mar has been at the forefront of camping for children with special needs since its inception.

 Private Residential 7 week Co-ed Camp Program

  • We provide a traditional Summer Camp experience for boys and girls with Learning and Developmental Challenges. *

  • Carefully Considered Grouping Our campers are grouped with an eye to age, ability and opportunity for social growth.

  • Our age groups are as follows: 5-9 Junior Division, 10-13 Intermediate Division, and 14-21 Senior Division. *

Mild to Moderate Learning and Developmental Challenges Including but not limited to:

  • ​Developmental challenges o Learning disabilities

  • Down Syndrome o Williams Syndrome

  • Autism, PDD, Fragile X , Asperger Syndrome,  ADD , ADHD

  • Structured Environment Provides a solid foundation for the personal growth of our campers.

Traditional Summer Camp Activities Campers enjoy all the fun and games of a traditional summer camp including; Arts and Crafts, Camp Olympics, Campfires, Camp Sing, and Counselor Productions. 

 Camp Adventures We offer fishing, boating, tent building and many other outdoors activities, within our Camp Adventure Program.

 Speech and Language Therapy Each Camper benefits from an individualized speech program, within small groups. Working towards goals derived from your child’s’ IEP.  Eligible for ESY funding in many cases.

Overnight Trips We run 3 trips every year. These trips are for 1, 2, and 3 days long. Each camper may attend one of the trips.st trips include: 

  • ​Day – Mystic, CT; Toronto, Canada; New York, NY.  Day – Philadelphia, PA; Baltimore, MD; Hersey Amish, PA Day - Knobels Themerk, PA; Dorneyrk, PA; Cooperstown, NY

Academics Our Academics Department works to support and maintain goals established during the school year. *Eligible for ESY funding in many cases (Camper’s IEP, etc).

Adaptive Athletic Program Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Soccer, Football, Hockey, Perceptual Training, and Swimming.

Vocational Training This program offers our senior campers an opportunity to experience what it is like to apply and hold a job over the summer. Positions vary from Pool Assistant toMail Sorter, Snack Delivery to Child Care.

Therapeutic Horseback riding This has proven to be an amazing and wildly popular and fulfilling experience for our campers.
