Intercommunity Action, Inc. (Interac) is a not-for-profit community agency whose mission is to provide exemplary services in the areas of Behavioral Health, Intellectual Disabilities and Aging, for the purpose of assisting people to achieve their maximum potential and enhancing their quality of lifeOutpatient Counseling Services support families and assist children who exhibit a wide variety of emotional or behavioral concerns.Thertial Hospitalization program provides structured therapeutic activities after school and during the Summer for children who need more structure than Outpatient Counseling can provide.Home/Community Services are designed for children and adolescents who require intensive intervention at the sites where their problematic behaviors occur, including school, home and other sites in the community.Individual Counseling may be recommended to help an individual learn coping skills, stress management and other techniques to address their drug and alcohol issues.In addition, Interac's program focuses on supporting the family unit. Family Counseling helps all family members develop new ways of dealing with the pressures that contribute to substance abuse.Group Therapy is another important form of treatment. Interac offers a variety of groups which teach life skills, assertiveness skills, and provide support for spouses andrtners. Interac also offers a free drug and alcohol Education Group weekly.
