Mended Little Hearts Philadelphia Region
This is a local chapter of Mended Hearts, a national nonprofit organization affiliated with the American Heart Association. The group provides emotional support and positive outlook totients through a visitation program, education and resources. Mended Hearts aims to inspire hope intients and families who have heart disease.
Mended Little Hearts Philadelphia Region was formed in June 2013. The need for a peer-to-peer support organization in the Philadelphia Region for families impacted by a devastating CHD diagnosis. Mended Little Hearts is a program of the Mended Hearts Inc., a non-profit, volunteer-based organization providing hope, help and healing to heart patients and their families since 1951. The Mended Little Hearts’ mission is to provide hope and support to children, families and caregivers impacted by congenital heart defects in order to extend and improve quality of life. The Philadelphia Chapter currently has over 50 member families and hundreds more who follow us via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook These include children and adults with varying diagnoses. Some of those include: Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, Coarctation, Atrial Septal Defect, Ventricular Septal Defect, Patent Ductus Arteriosus, Transposition of the Great Arteries, Double Outlet Right Ventricle, Tetralogy of Fallot, Noonan Syndrome, Patent Foramen Ovale, Pulmonary Stenosis, Heterotaxy, Pulmonary Atresia, Kawasaki Disease, Long QT syndrome, and Transplant.
The Mended Little Hearts program works nationally and in communities to support children with congenital heart defects and their families.
