Their work focuses on ensuring safe and supportive learning environments for students, particularly LGBTQ+ students of color. At NWLC, she spearheaded the report “We Are Not Invisible/No Somos Invisibles: Latina Girls, Mental Health, and Philadelphia Schools” and leads ongoing advocacy for Latina mental health in schools at the federal and local levels. The program aims to alleviate the stresses associated with caregiving by focusing on the well-being of the caregiver, providing access to respite care, addressing the need for formal and informal supports, and providing financial reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs associated with caregiving-related services and supplies.
