< Back Family Resource Network * Mission is to strengthen and improve the lives and well-being of children, families, and communities * Directory of community resources for a wide variety of social service agenciesThe Family Resource Network (FRN) was started in 2007, with a small grant provided by the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health/Mental Retardation Services (DBH/MRS). The Family Resource Network was established in response to the need of families to access information about the behavioral health system and the support groups who educate them. Due to the cooperative relationship of the FRN members, families are able to acquire more immediate information, and have a choice of support groups. The Family Resource Network has become an activerticipant with the DBHIDS regarding the Day Transformation efforts of providers, developed standards for family inclusion, andrticipates with the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Leadership Council.

< Back Laughlin Children’s Center Our mission expresses itself through clinical and academic services provided to children ages two through eighteen. Our academic services include Dyslexia and academic tutoring and a preschool program. Our clinical services include speech, occupational and psychological therapy. We provide screenings to determine a child’s needs and then develop a plan for further evaluation. We provide over 10,000 appointments annually to nearly 2,100 children throughout Western Pennsylvania. As a nonprofit, we can keep our fees affordable; we accept most major insurances, and we offer a generous financial aid program for those families who qualify. Laughlin Children’s Center Today Our services include: Academic evaluation and instruction (one-on-one and small group) for children from preschool through high school. Dyslexia tutoring. Psychological testing and therapy (individual and family). Speech-language therapy. Occupational therapy. < Back Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition The Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition is a statewide network of people who use their own experiences with mental health to support others. All Coalition members are people who use peer support skills to inspire hope that recovery from mental illness is possible. We believe that everyone who offers peer support to others deserves support too. The Coalition offers this support. We provide training and education about peer support and recovery, and we help create peer support networking groups. We also advocate for the needs of people who provide peer support. Many of our members are Certified Peer Specialists who provide peer support professionally in mental health agencies. However, it is not necessary to be a Certified Peer Specialist to join the Coalition. We welcome anyone who uses their own mental health recovery experiences to support others.
